The mission of the City of Oakwood Public Works Dept. is to provide a service of excellence to our city residence and businesses by responding to the needs and concerns of rapid development and population growth in the City of Oakwood. We strive to keep our streets and park well lit and clean for the enjoyment of all residents and visitors, to provide prompt weekly trash and recycling pick up, and monthly tree limb removal. In summary, we strive to provide the highest quality of service to the citizens of Oakwood.
Goals:
1) We want to provide a direct contact point and response to calls and concerns of the public.
2) Enhance safety and functionality of our park, pool, and Community bldgs.
3) Expand our beautification projects.
4) Being proactive not reactive to our cities needs.
5) Building an online reporting and tracking system.
6) Research land potentials for future Public Works Dept. relocation.
Objectives:
1) Decrease solid waste by improving our recycling efforts.
2) Improve solid waste collections to reduce litter and create uniformity in the community.
3) Improve small item inventories for fleet and bldg maintenance.
4) Job specific equipment and tool acquisitions to maximize available man hours.
5) Update web site quarterly explaining current and new ordinances pertaining to solid waste, recycling, and tree limb pick up.
