Oakwood Police Department - FAQ
Open Records Requests

The Oakwood Police Department understands that almost all of our actions are available for public review. As such, we are dedicated to responding to all open records requests received in writing in a timely manner.

Open Records Requests should contain the following: requestor’s name, phone number, and return address, other contact information, type of information requested including names, dates, times, locations, case numbers (if available) and the appropriate Georgia or Federal Public Information or Record Law (usually O.C.G.A. Section 50-18-71) related to the specific request. Based on the type of information requested, charges may be incurred. If this is the case, we will contact you prior to processing your request.

Please note that individuals and attorneys requesting information concerning a case that is awaiting trial may be required to file appropriate discovery motions with either the Hall County Clerk of Superior Court or Hall County Solicitor’s Office.

For questions or additional information concerning open records call 770-534-2364.
